今回は設問①にある、thatの用法について紹介したいと思います。
選択肢は４つですが、それぞれ理解できているかが先ず大事なところですね。
（ア）関係代名詞主格 （イ）関係代名詞目的格 （ウ）同格（エ）目的語をつくる名詞節
例文をつけて、簡単に説明します。
（ア）関係代名詞主格
Maybe, the students / that have lost them / have bothered their parents to buy them new ones.
☆名詞 （the students） that の後ろに動詞がきている（主語がない）
（イ）関係代名詞目的格
There are several problems / that we have to get the prime minister to consider.
☆名詞 （problems） that の後ろに主語動詞がきて、あるはずの目的語がない
（ウ）同格
They are aware of the fact [that as many as 30 children a minute are now dying of hunger on this earth.]
☆名詞 （problems） that の後に続く文の要素がそろっている。that以下が名詞の内容を具体的に説明している。
（エ）目的語をつくる名詞節
The National Police Agency* announced that about twentyfour thousand people killed themselves last year.
☆他動詞 （announced） の後ろにthat が来ており、「～を」「～に」に該当する。that以下は、主語動詞が揃っている。
